Words From the Messenger Hello Family! I hope you enjoyed the first edition of FAMILY MATTERS. This is the 2nd installment of what we expect to be many more. This quarters edition includes many interesting articles and information. If you would like to provide suggestions on, or even author, future articles, please contact one of the Family Messengers. We received a lot of feedback from "the family". All suggestions, recommendations, criticisms, and compliments are welcome. Good, Bad, or Indifferent, keep them coming. One of the reasons this newsletter was created was to communicate. Communication is the fabric that holds a family together. If neglected, it will come apart. One item of focus for this issue is Black History Month. The topic alone often provokes discussion. Since we are limited in space I will not diatribe about the concept. I will however say that if only for the next couple of months, please take the time to learn (as well as teach) something about the part of American history that is often revised, discounted, or omitted. Young or Old... do your part. If we don't, continued on page 2

Reunion T-ShirtsIn early December Julia sent out over 300 Christmas cards to family members. Inside of each of them was a demographics sheet for everyone in the household to fill out and return to her so that she could update our family tree and make new T-shirts for the Family Reunion. To make sure you or no one in your family is left off of that shirt or our family tree, please return that demographics sheet as soon as possible. You may remember it. It was printed up on a yellow sheet of paper. Julia Mae Davis-Williams |
